View Full Version : Couple of Things...
First of all, merry christmas! I hope you all have the best of holidays! :D
On a less cheery note, we've lost access to our cPanel. Our host changed the password and has neglected to inform us as to what the new one is. What does this mean for us?
Most importantly, if there are any more major errors it will be much more difficult to fix them because we are unable to zip straight into the cPanel. In light of this we'll be taking full backups a lot more often, just in case. This doesn't really affect anyone at present, but if we were a bigger forum we would require downtime while taking backups, so I thought I'd warn you anyway.
Also, we can't create new email accounts, so any new staff members and Super Donators will not receive one until we can get everything squared up - please take this into account if you plan to donate.
Once again we find the future of Infohub resting in the hands of a host who doesn't respond to our messages.
Do you pay for infohub? If not, I can offer mah webhostinin services, I think.

Dude...that like, sucks. Oh well, I have faith in you guys, I'll help in any way I can even though I know nothing about this sort of thing. At the very least I can keep backups of your backups.

We don't pay for infohub, no.
And moving everything sounds easy enough, but the question is, do you have the ability for us to park a domain and operate from your mail server? That's all cPanel stuff, so if you've got that, then I guess we're good, dependant on the space and bandwidth you have available, and uptime.
To anyone who may think negatively of our host:
He's really a good guy -- just incredibly busy. What's more, he's allowing us to operate this site with no restrictions of any kind, for free. That's more than most people can say. So honestly, I can accept these momentary problems, as I'm confident they'll be resolved in time.
I have all that you need. Do not worry.

Whoa, I had no idea. Host-dude is a pretty awesome person after all! I apologize for thinking otherwise. Free toothpicks for everyone! *hands some out to people even if they don't want it*

Merry Christmas to all!
To counter the not-being-able-to-create-email-accounts we've started adding some very, very cool things in the Donator's Lounge forum.
