My toe hurts

I have had an ingrown toenail for several days - this photo is a few days old. It's starting to ooze a sort of pus on the other side of the nail too, now.

When I was 11 I got one of those, hurt for two years, and nothing the doctor did stopped it from growing back, so when I was 13 I just got fed up with it one day, and dug it completely out with a pocket knife. Haven't had one since.

was in the army for 4 years, those were not allowed.... by American law your government property and geting sunburn, a tatoo or your feet not working properly is considered Article 15" and u can be fined for it, so the second i had one i also took a knife and carved it out, never had a problem since, Ton soak it in peroxide and use a nail file to life it off the skin, let it have some room to breathe and it will heal, but u have to keep it away from the skin and it needs air. it will help i promise

Yeah, it hurts really bad, but once you get some air exposure, it'll start killing the bacteria there, and it'll start healing. Trust me, I never found a medicine that worked for it, and neither did the doctor I was going to. the only other real option is to have it cut out at the hospital which would involve much less pain, but it's way more expensive.

I had to do this a few years back as well, but I didn't have any peroxide or anything - just lots of lots of really hot water.
